   Ubaldo Valli

   Ubaldo Valli is conductor of the String Ensemble and Advanced Chamber Ensemble of the Empire State Youth Orchestra              (Albany, NY), music director of the Auburn Chamber Orchestra (Auburn, NY), director of the Hyde Hall Chamber    Players    (Cooperstown, NY), and has served as interim conductor of the Empire State Repertory Orchestra and the SUNY Cortland     College-Community Orchestra.       He has served as guest conductor of the St. Cecilia Chamber  Orchestra (Albany, NY) and conducted several performaces broadcast over WMHT-FM. He also conducted an orchestra for an interfaith service held with the Dalai Lama of Tibet.

Mr. Valli has studied conducting with Pamela Gearhart and
Karel Husa. For several years he has participated in national  conducting workshops sponsored by the American Symphony Orchestra League.

An active violinist, Mr. Valli plays with the Glimmerglass Opera, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic, the Albany Symphony, in addition to extensive freelance work throughout New York and Pennsylvania.. He studied violin with William Lincer, Pamela Gearhart and Linda Sharon-Cerone.

Mr. Valli has also developed, written, and presented lecture-recitals with his chamber group, the 1st Street Chamber Players. He gives pre-concert talks for the Binghamton Philharmonic, which tries to dignify his presentations by calling them "Opening Notes"  even though he persists in calling them "Stump the Chump."
